  3. A place created out of love

"We are Hania's parents since August 2013, she is our greatest happiness, and she became an 'inspiration' to open our shop and gallery with arts and crafts, LaBaDu", says Magdalena Mrówczyńska.

From machine's weight to fabric's lightness

Married for four years, Mr and Mrs Mrówczyńscy run the company with equipment and machinery for car repair shops.

When Mrówczyński family found out they will have a baby, they started to have new ideas. Especially Mrs Magdalena and her idea for a hand-made gallery. "I was four months pregnant and I was looking for unusual and original products for my child. I did not like when you could find ten identical pieces of one thing on a shelf. I wanted to have the things that others wouldn't have", says Mrs Magda. "Plastic toys were a deterrent to me, so I began to search the Internet", she adds.

What was the young future mum looking for and what has she found?

"I have found that in Poland there are many artists, producing, usually at home, various toy marvels. I fell in love with these things shown in the photographs, but I missed sensory experience. I wanted to see these items myself to make sure that a lot of heart and work has been put into them. Unfortunately, I couldn't find such a place in Wroclaw."

Everything for Hania

Hania, Mrs Mrówczyńska's daughter, made her mother forget about hand-made business for the first three months of her life. Naturally, when a child is born, you only have eyes for it.

"But the idea was still in my head. So in December I gathered my strength and started looking for future suppliers for my shop. The ones I found were enthusiastic and supported me, they even offered very good terms of cooperation. Then I found a little friendly locale to put my idea into practice."

Who will buy it?

"The magical place" ("Magiczne miejsce") of Mr and Mrs Mrówczyńscy at Braniborska 70 street will collect the products of Polish handicraftsmen only, and there will be an option of mail order. Who will buy it?

"First of all, those parents who don't like toys from China, just like us. I believe that today's parents increasingly appreciate the value of handicraft. We see the advantages of products whose creators have put their talent and heart into them. I can also see that Hania, for example, would rather fall asleep with a fabric toy than with a plastic rattle."

A sweet beginning

Hand-sewn and embroidered from materials of highest quality, unique, carefully crafted, safe, friendly, pleasant to the touch (some can be personalised, for example with adding child's name and date of birth) — these are the features of LaBaDu's product range. It's not just toys, but also hair accessories for girls, designer clothes, as well as identical clothes for mother and daughter, which might turn out to be the hit!
